My collection of Pontiac literature contains a wide array of miscellaneous information. Occasionally while sorting through material, I happen across something interesting. When that occurs, I'll be sharing those with you in a PontiacV8.com-exclusive series entitled "Did You Know??".
One such piece is from the August 11, 1977 issue of PMD Today—a daily newsletter distributed to Pontiac employees.
Apparently Burt Reynolds wasn’t the only big screen star wheeling a ’77 Special Edition Trans Am! We learn that Clint Eastwood took delivery of a ’77 S/E T/A from Corey Pontiac in Salinas, California during the summer of 1977.
Interestingly, this ’77 Trans Am wasn’t the only Pontiac F-car that Eastwood owned. His Cameo White ’73 Trans Am appeared in several scenes of Thunderbolt and Lightfoot, a 1974 release. And it's quite possible that he may have owned others.
I understand that Eastwood's former '73 Trans Am is housed in a private collection. Is anyone familiar with what became of his ’77 Special Edition Trans Am?
