One, for me, was a Springfield Green 1972 Formula 455 H.O. that was in the Omaha area during the 1980s and 1990s. Its unique exterior color and healthy 455 H.O. stuck with me over the years. Pontiac10 CommentsI was contacted by the owner of code-ZE 455 who questioned its true origin because of someone’s handiwork with a grinder. We seemingly determined that the ZE-code 455 was originally assembled as a WD-code 455 H.O. during the 1972 model year, and was then re-purposed for 1973 when it was leftover from the strike-shortened 1972 model year. Does that seem far fetched? You be the judge!
