A Wrecked 1973 Firebird Found Its Way Home
Pontiac3 CommentsThis series of vintage images from my Pontiac photograph collection depict a 1973 Firebird involved in some sort of collision. I had no idea when I purchased them a few years back from an out-of-state antique dealer that the accident scene was located in Omaha, Nebraska. As you’ll see with the efforts of Google Maps, that intersection hasn’t changed much over the years.
Did Pontiac Repurpose a Leftover 1972 455 H.O. Block?
Pontiac10 CommentsI was contacted by the owner of code-ZE 455 who questioned its true origin because of someone’s handiwork with a grinder. We seemingly determined that the ZE-code 455 was originally assembled as a WD-code 455 H.O. during the 1972 model year, and was then re-purposed for 1973 when it was leftover from the strike-shortened 1972 model year. Does that seem far fetched? You be the judge!
